The result is the Lendermarket Risk Score on a 1–10 scale, where 10 indicates lower risk / stronger performance and 1 indicates higher risk / weaker performance.
The table below shows each component index and the overall Risk Score. The overall Risk Score is calculated as the sum of the five component indices shown in the table (rounded to 2 decimal places).

The higher the numerical value, the less risk.

Each component index is calculated from a set of checks, thresholds, and available evidence. Checks are scored on a points basis. Higher index values indicate better performance in that area.
Public Trust reflects external credibility and customer trust signals. It includes public reviews (e.g., Google and Trustpilot) and expert assessment.
For the Transaction category we select a sample of Loan Originator loan agreements listed on the platform and perform checks on the underlying loan documentation, disbursement evidence, and repayment evidence. The purpose is to verify that key terms and cashflow-related events are consistent and supported by appropriate documentation.
Financial monitoring includes tests related to portfolio behaviour and underwriting quality (e.g., arrears, buyback activity, extensions), financial covenants agreed with Lendermarket (e.g., interest coverage and leverage-related ratios), and the quality of financial reporting (including audit/review status, auditor recognition, and audit opinion).
In the Legal category we monitor three key areas: the Loan Originator’s supervisory and regulatory environment, anti-money laundering (AML/CTF) obligations and governance, and compliance with Lendermarket platform requirements (including Listing Agreement representations and adherence to Platform Rules).
Transparency reflects the availability and quality of public information about the Loan Originator. We assess factors such as public access to financial statements, visibility of the Loan Originator’s track record, availability of management and ownership information, and other publicly verifiable corporate information.
Subscores contribute to the Lendermarket score based on the following weighting principles: 10% Transparency, 15% Legal, 25% Financial, 15% Transactions, and 35% Public Trust. The score is built by combining these component results into one overall value. Not all tests are identical for all Loan Originators (for example, financial covenant thresholds may differ depending on the Loan Originator).
